The Project of a Tenant of SEZ Lotus Joins the List of Significant Projects of the Russian-Chinese Cooperation

The 11th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Investment Cooperation was held in Moscow. Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, chaired the event. Representatives of government agencies, development institutes, business circles and experts discussed the development of relations between the two countries, including the implementation of mutual investment projects.

According to Denis Manturov, in 2023 the bilateral turnover of goods between Russia and China increased by a quarter and reached 228 billion dollars. It is noteworthy that 90% of the mutual exchange was conducted in national currencies. This year, an increase in the turnover of cargo is also on the rise.

The participants held a comprehensive discussion on the current state of the Russian-Chinese investment cooperation and prospective areas of its future development.

At the end of the commission meeting it was decided to include two new projects worth more than 1.3 billion dollars in the list of significant Russian-Chinese investment projects. The list includes the production of ultrapure specialised carbon black from natural gas by Golden Industries Group LLC, a tenant of Special Economic Zone LOTUS. This project on the creation of a high-tech enterprise is being implemented in cooperation with Chinese partners, and the pre-design work is underway.

The tire, polymer, leather and construction industries, as well as producers of everyday goods, printing inks and toners, will become consumers of the plant products.

According to experts, the project has a high value for the technological development of the territory and meets high safety and ecological requirements. In addition to a significant increase in the added value of natural gas, the company's products can meet the demand of the industrial market not only in Russian regions, but also in neighboring countries.
