A ceremony of putting afloat two dredgers of 93.159 and 93.159.1 projects was held at the production site of the SEZ Lotus anchor tenant Lotos Shipyard (a shipyard of the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center incorporated in the United Shipbuilding Corporation).
The newest dredging vessels have been designed in accordance with the requirements of the Russian Classification Society and are suitable for excavating silt, swamp ground, sand of various grain sizes and suspension, clay, and gravel.
The dredgers have a capacity of 900 cubic meters of soil per hour.
The contract with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) for the construction of four vessels with bucket wheel and cutter head dredges was signed in 2020. The technical fleet is being built for the administrations of inland waterway basins of the Russian Federation within the framework of the program for the development of leasing of domestic vessels with state funding.
The first two vessels were put into operation in 2023 and 2024. They are used in the Volga and Dvina-Pechora inland waterway basins.
The dredger and its equipment are designed to carry out dredging works. The vessel is propelled by two separate azimuthing propulsion units with container-type drive engines, installed on the aft deck at both sides. The vessel can reach 12 km/h in free float.
The main characteristics of the project vessel are as follows:
- 50.00 m hull length;
- 11.88 m hull width;
- 2.97 m hull height;
- 1.30 m average draft with full fuel reserve;
- 10 m maximum dredging depth;
- 2.0 m minimum dredging depth;
- 900 m3/hour productivity.
