SEZ Lotus Has the Necessary Infrastructure to Provide New Tenants with

At the end of 2023, three new companies with a total investment exceeding 1.9 billion rubles attained the status of a tenant of the Special Economic Zone Lotus. The investors are planning to produce cosmetics, dietary supplements, flour, and build a protective coating complex in the Industrial SEZ in Astrakhan.

 According to Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC, the new tenants will be provided with the infrastructure, the construction of which is underway and will be carried out according to the budget loan restructuring mechanisms (Program 1704).

 In 2022, 644.6 million rubles were allocated for the construction of the infrastructure in SEZ Lotus within this mechanism. This funding will cover the construction of 15 facilities, including 3km of roads in various parts of the SEZ, underground cable tunnels for telecommunication systems, fences, and other necessary facilities.

 – In 2023, 2.3 kilometers of cable ducting pipes for telecommunications and a fence in the eastern sector of the SEZ were installed. The roads are in various stages of completion. Under Government Decree 1704, 740 million rubles were allocated for the construction of roads and a power distribution station. Tendering procedures are currently underway. All of these facilities will meet the road and engineering infrastructure requirements of current and new tenants, including the companies, which attained the status of a tenant at the end of 2023, – noted Sergey Milushkin, Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC.

 You may recall that the Government decree № 1704, issued on October 19, 2020, permits the financing of infrastructure construction for new investment projects from the regional budget. The region can decrease its public debt by the amount of taxes generated by the new investment projects and paid to the federal budget.
