Business Delegation from Chelyabinsk Visits the Management Company of the Caspian Cluster

A business delegation from the city of Chelyabinsk paid a visit to the Astrakhan Region. The event was held to implement the signed agreement on cooperation between the governments of the regions. During the visit the Management Company of the Caspian Cluster of Special Economic Zones was presented. Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC, hosted the meeting.

The sides discussed the possibilities of interaction between the industrial enterprises of the Chelyabinsk Region and the tenants of SEZ Lotus, as well as the use of the Port SEZ’s capacities for the transit of the Urals’ products.

Viktor Korman, the Chairman of the Council of the South Urals Chamber of Commerce and Industry and General Director of LLC Uralpromtekhnika, noted that the Chelyabinsk Region companies are involved in the production of specialized machinery, white marble mining and processing, trade, supply of metal cutting tools, production of heat exchangers, air conditioning equipment, transformer substations, and other industries. They are also interested in expanding trade and economic cooperation with the Caspian-bordering states and in supplying cargoes via the International North-South Transport Corridor, including through the Astrakhan Region.

– The representatives of the Chelyabinsk delegation expressed their interest in cooperating with both the Industrial and the Port SEZs of the Caspian Cluster. We, in turn, are interested in a close cooperation with Russian industrial enterprises, for which our Port SEZ may serve as a transshipment hub for the cargoes forwarded to Iran, India and other countries. Today, this corridor is in high demand, and we will be able to offer our Urals partners attractive opportunities for entering new markets, taking into account our modern port capacities, which are currently under construction, as well as a large transport and logistics center that is planned to be established there. We are also interested in expanding cooperation between the tenants of the Industrial SEZ Lotus and Chelyabinsk companies.
