A Delegation from the Chelyabinsk Region Visited the Management Company of the Caspian Cluster

A business delegation from the Chelyabinsk Region, headed by Natalya Lugacheva, the Minister of Economic Development of the region, paid a working visit to the Astrakhan Region. The event was held within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the governments of the regions. The visit included a meeting at the Management Company of the Caspian Cluster of Special Economic Zones. The meeting was chaired by Mikhail Kabakov, Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy of the Astrakhan Region, and Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC.

 It should be noted that last year a business delegation from the Chelyabinsk Region already expressed interest in options for cooperation between its industrial enterprises and the tenants of SEZ Lotus. This time, the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in medicine, the production of transformers, radio electronics, shut-off valves, and other areas.

 The parties also discussed the beneficial logistics component of the cooperation between the regions. The delivery of products manufactured by the Urals enterprises along the routes of the International North-South Transport Corridor, including through the Port Special Economic Zone in the Astrakhan Region, contributes to the expansion of trade and economic relations with the Caspian states. For example, enterprises in the Chelyabinsk Region are engaged in the production of specialized vehicles, the extraction and processing of white marble, trade, as well as the supply of metal-cutting tools, the production of heat exchanging devices, air conditioning equipment, and other areas.

 At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further explore options for cooperation between the enterprises of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Caspian Cluster of SEZs.
