SEZs of the Astrakhan Region and the Republic of Belarus Strengthen Cooperation

SEZ Lotus JSC, the management company of the Caspian Cluster, and the Administration of Mogilev FEZ continue the implementation of the previously signed cooperation agreement. During the videoconference «Investment, Trade, Economic and Industrial Cooperation», the tenants of the economic zones head an opportunity to tell about their activities, share their experience and consider further partnership.

The tenants of SEZ Lotus — Lotos Shipyard JSC (incorporated in the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Centre), Roza LTD, GIG LLC, as well as the regional enterprises, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Astrakhan Region and the Astrakhanrybkhoz Association were the participants from the Russian side. The Mogilev FEZ tenants OJSC Mogilevkhimvolokno, Omsk Carbon Mogilev FLLC, the roofing factory Technonicol, perfume and cosmetics factory Sontsa, etc. and the Mogilev Agency for Regional Development represented the Belarus side.

Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC, and Alexander Pilushkin, Deputy Head of Mogilev FEZ Administration, opened the videoconference and expressed their hope that such events will be held on a regular basis.

During the event, the participants discussed the investment potential of the economic zones and the opportunities for export of goods and industrial cooperation within the regions. These included the possibility of transporting the products of Belarus enterprises via the International North-South Transport Corridor using the modern facilities being constructed within the Port SEZ of the Astrakhan Region.

— I believe that the foundation for our cooperation has been laid. For the first time, there was a rather large number of participants alongside with a positive exchange of experience and opinions. Our region located in the southern part of Russia, has the access to Iran, India, etc. via the INSTC and is always ready for cooperation with Belarus. For our part, we are ready to provide the Belarus companies with any kind of assistance, including cargo delivery to external markets using our Port SEZ facilities and establishing cooperation between our tenants. We are open for our partners, — Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC, summed up the meeting.

Following the videoconference, the two sides exchanged contacts for further elaboration of the practical and mutually beneficial cooperation.

As a reminder, in March of this year, the delegation of the Mogilev Region of Belarus attended the Astrakhan Region during 3 days. The representatives of authorities and business circles of the two countries hold a meeting to discuss the development of interregional cooperation in various aspects. Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC Sergey Milushkin and Head of Administration of the Mogilev FEZ (the Republic of Belarus) Andrey Yartsev signed a cooperation agreement. The sides agreed to expand foreign economic activities and cooperation relations and to organize events and will tend to establish joint ventures and implement investment projects on the territories of the economic zones.
