"Lotus" was included in the shortlist of the most effective SEZ by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation

The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has prepared a report of the results of the operation of special economic zones in 2017 and for the period since its inception. The Astrakhan SEZ "Lotus" is recognized as effective because it has exceeded the planned indicators on a number of positions. In total, the report of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation sent to the Government of the Russian Federation, presents 22 SEZs of four types.

Special economic zones of industrial-production and technology-innovative types were recognized the most effective. SEZ of port type follows further in the report. Tourism and recreation became least effective.
Special economic zones were estimated by 16 absolute and relative quantitative indicators (number of residents, jobs, investment volume, etc.), as well as four calculated performance indicators.

The value of the free calculated performance indicator of the special economic zone "Lotos" was 100% for 2017, and 95% for the period from the beginning of operation. Thus, SEZ "Lotos" has entered into 5 of the most effective SEZ of industrial-production type.

The effectiveness of the special economic zones is assessed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation on the basis of the Russian Federation Government Resolution No. 643 of 7 July 2016 "On the Procedure for Performance Evaluation of Special Economic Zones".
