SEZ Lotus signed an agreement with a potential tenant at the Russian Investment Forum
On February 15, PJSC SEZ Lotus and PJSC NPO Monocrystal concluded an agreement of intent within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. The document was signed at the exhibition stand of the Astrakhan Region and Special Economic Zone Lotus with the participation of the governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin.

The company plans to implement an investment project to grow silicon monocrystals and produce solar PV panels from them. The planned volume of investments is 1.5 billion rubles. Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2021.

Monocrystalline panels have many advantages, including, first of all, high efficiency (productivity – 17-22%), compact dimensions, durability and competitive price.
"The uniqueness of our technology is in the fact that we carry out the entire production cycle - from growing the crystals themselves to the finished panel," explained Alexander Rebrov, the Director General of Monocrystal, LLC. - We exclude mediation between suppliers and us. Today the details are taken either only from the European or from the Chinese market, which affects the final cost of the product. Our product will be cheaper."

"An initially Russian solar panel is being created - not a unit of components that are brought from other countries. This will allow us to be "trendsetters" in the field of solar energy not only in Russia, but also abroad. What is especially important - these technologies are interesting to our partners in the Caspian Region and in the project of international transport corridor "North-South", said Sergey Milushkin, Director General of PJSC SEZ Lotus.

According to Alexander Rebrov, the first stage of the project provides the construction of an industrial complex. The second stage is the establishment of monocrystals production and the creation of an assembly workshop. The third stage is entering the market. The implementation is planned not only in Russia, but also in the CIS countries, as well as the Caspian states, especially Iran. At the plant, laboratory and research complexes will be created.

The special economic zone "Lotus" was established in the Narimanovsky district of the Astrakhan Region in 2014. Today, it has eight registered companies. The total amount of declared investments of all residents is more than 24 billion rubles. At the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi SEZ "Lotus" has become the main economic projects of the region, the basis of the exhibition stand of the Astrakhan region. The stand presented models of future plants, ships under construction, samples of manufactured products of all residents of the Astrakhan SEZ.
