Sergey Milushkin represents the potential of SEZ "LOTUS" (Astrakhan) in India at the Global Summit "Vibrant Gujarat - 2017"



Director General of PJSC "Special Economic Zone "LOTUS" Sergey Milushkin participates in global summit "Vibrant Gujarat - 2017" in India as a member of the Russian delegation headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin. 

The Russian delegation in India includes representatives of Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, CEOs of major Russian companies such as Novatek, Rosneft, Sibur, Shwabe, Rosatom, Roscosmos, Rostec, Russian Helicopters as well as the representatives of the Tatarstan and the Astrakhan Regions having long-standing partnership with the Indian state of Gujarat. 

International Trade Fair and Nobel Prize laureates media exhibition as well as various sessions and business meetings are held in the framework of the Forum. 

On the sidelines of the summit, Sergey Milushkin will participate in B2B meetings with potential investors and give the presentation of the Special Economic Zone of industrial production type "LOTUS", located in the Astrakhan Region at the intersection of international transport corridors "North-South" and "East-West" connecting Europe and Asia. 

According to the press office of the chairman of the Astrakhan Region Government Konstantin Markelov leading the regional delegation, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting during which they discussed the development of relations with the Astrakhan Region. There is reportedly an agreement that Narendra Modi will visit Russia and one of the Russian regions in the middle of the year. The Vice-Governor noted that he would meet the Prime Minister of India in the Astrakhan region with pleasure and would like to show him Special Economic Zone "LOTUS". 

The Vibrant Gujarat Global economic Summit is held every alternative year. 

The event takes place in January 10-13, 2017 in the Indian city of Gandhinagar (Gujarat State) at Mahatma Mandir exhibition center. 

The moto of the Summit is "Gujarat: connecting India to the World". Summit has become one of the major events, both for India itself and for the countries of the South Asian region since it attracts a significant number of foreign businessmen and potential investors. 

PJSC “SEZ “LOTUS” is the management company of the industrial production special economic zone “LOTUS” founded on the territory of the Narimanov municipality of the Astrakhan Region. 100 % shares of PJSC “SEZ “LOTUS” are owned by the Government of the Astrakhan Region.

SEZ “LOTUS” was founded in the Narimanov District of the Astrakhan Region on the bank of the Volga River. SEZ total area is 9.8 square kilometers. The main part of the territory (8.4 square kilometers) will become an industrial zone. SEZ “LOTUS” residents will be provided with railway and road infrastructure. SEZ “LOTUS” territory is connected by road to the federal highway M6. The territory has a jetty. The international airport “Astrakhan” is in a 40-minutes car drive from SEZ.

SEZ “LOTUS” is focused on the implementation of import substitution programs in shipbuilding, oil and gas industry, port and railway sector and other high-tech industries.

Special Economic Zone “LOTUS” is the basic platform for implementation of import substitution program of JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation” and for all Russian shipbuilding industry.

JSC “Shipyard “Lotos” (incorporated in JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation”) is the anchor resident of SEZ “LOTUS”. The shipyard is designed for construction of sea-river type vessels as well as offshore equipment intended for exploration and production of oil and gas on the continental shelves of seas and oceans. 

SEZ “LOTUS” residents: LLC “Svoyee” (established by Moscow company LLC “Polycomplex”) planning to start the production of biodegradable irrigation tubes, LLC “ATEF-RUSS” with the production of transformers equipment and LLC “MIT” (“MedInTech”) with the production of auto-disable medical syringes.
